Welcome to the home of the South Asian Diaspora Arts Archive (SADAA). SADAA conserves, digitises, shares, and celebrates the work of first generation British South Asian artists, post-partition. We were originally set up to hold collections that would otherwise be lost, and we’re still collecting. This year, to celebrate our 25thbirthday, we’ve commissioned nine original works from writers, artists, and friends of SADAA, opening windows onto their lives, influences, and practice. You can read them here.

Thanks to the foresight of the committed writers and academics who brought their blueprint for our archive into being, we now sit within the national collections at Birmingham Museum and Gallery. Many of the creators whose work we hold are vital to mainstream arts narratives and our recent projects have won the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England.  Please contact us  if you have items that require preservation and showcasing.
