Raising the Flag’ was a multi media installation created as part of the ‘Independent Thoughts’ project in 1997. This particular image portrays a section of the larger installation built on sand. There is a resemblance of the Indian flag beneath the sculpture. From a small platform, people’s carvings of people’s arms are reaching up between lengths of wood. The installation is made from ancient timbers, stone, metal, sand and relics.
