Description | This black and white booklet was published for a series of events organised by the Academy of Indian Dance in association with the Commonwealth Institute. It was held in the context of the ten-day ‘Nrittya Sammelan’ , or as translated in the booklet, Festival of Indian Dance and Music, in London in 1982. The events included performances by teachers and students of the Academy, a seminar on the contribution of Indian dance to British culture, lectures, demonstrations and performances for schools, and an exhibition of dance costumes and drawings of Indian dancers. The booklet features a programme of events which took place between 27 June and 4 July 1982. It also includes biographies and photographs of the dancers Chitra Sundaram, Tara Rajkumar and Kottakkal Chandrashekharan, Priya and Pratap Pawar and The Academy of Indian Dance. |
