Description | This purple A5 flyer provides details of a new work by Baluji Shrivastav entitled ‘Portraits of the Dark’. The production illustrated dramatic episodes in Baluji’s life as a blind musician. His aim was to “help a sighted person know how a blind person feels”. ‘Portraits of the Dark’ used classical Indian instruments and drew upon diverse musical influences such as Arabic music and jazz. The production was commissioned by the Association of Blind Asians and toured five venues in London between November 1990 and January 1991. |
