Series notes	Fourteen Songs,Two Weddings and a Funeral', is a musical love story adapted by Sudha Buchar and Kristine Landon-Smith and directed and choreographed by Kristine Landon-Smith. The play was adapted from the 1994 Rajshri Productions world-wide blockbuster Bollywood film 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!'. Tamasha's 1998 production premiered at the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith on 11 November then toured to Bristol. 'Fourteen Songs,Two Weddings and a Funeral' has won two awards, the BBC Asia Award for Achievement in the Arts, and the Barclay Theatre Award for the best musical in 1999. It was brought back by popular demand in 2001 and played at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith from 14 February - 3 March, Nottingham Playhouse, Nottingham, Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield, The Lowry, Manchester, Bristol Old Vic, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford and Birmingham Repertory Theatre between 5 March and 9 April 2001. Co-adapter of the play and Tamasha's co-founder, Sudha Buchar said,"The heritage of Bollywood is an inspiration to us as artists. The show paved the way for Bollywood to go mainstream. We portrayed a true representation of Bollywood on stage and made it more accessible to a culturally diverse British audience." (see http://www.newsindia-times.com/2002/05/03/tow33-top.html) The cast of 'Fourteen Songs,Two Weddings and a Funeral' include Rajesh Bedi, Ajay Chhabra, Meneka Das, Shiv Grewal, Raza Jaffrey, Shobu Kapoor, Pravesh Kumar, Parminder Nagra, Rehan Sheikh and Sameena Zehra. The 2001 re-runs of the production featured four new members of cast Pushpinder Chani replacing Pravesh Kumar, Mala Ghedia replacing Parminder Nagra, Shammi Aulakh replacing Raza Jaffrey and Archie Lal played the role of the Professor.
