Description | Chila Kumari Burman was one of the first British Asian women artists who emerged in Britain in the 1980s. Her information card for an exhibition at Horizon Gallery, London, includes an invitation to the private view of her work on held on 27 June 1990. The chief guest at the Gallery’s private view was Channel 4’s film producer/director of the programme Movie Mahal, Nasreen Munni Kabir. The information card also includes four quotes from individuals and written articles commenting on Burman’s work, and a selected list of her commissions and exhibitions held since 1984. Chila Kumari Burman’s exhibition at the Horizon Gallery ran from 27 June to 20 July 1990. |
