This A4 black and white photograph depicts four sets of dancers’ feet in Bharata Natyam dance positions. The image was used as part of the promotional material documenting Akademi’s rehearsals at Hampstead Town Hall dance studio for the ‘Coming of Age’ production. ‘Coming of Age’ was held on the walkways of the South Bank in August 2000 featuring performances of contemporary and classical Indian dance, in celebration of Akademi’s 21st anniversary.
