Description | This is a blue, A5 flyer for ‘Shifting Footprints’, which features on the front several footprints in black, red, yellow and blue. This event was a culmination of one of Akademi’s many educational initiatives in which top Akademi dance artists worked with over one hundred and twenty young people from four primary schools in the London Borough of Newham. ‘Shifting Footprints’ brought together two other projects, “Migrations”, a creative writing and South Asian dance project organised by Akademi, Newham Education Refugee Team and Newham Education Action Zone, and “Dance Connect”, a project introducing the performing arts into core components of the National Curriculum. This multi-media performance involved the children performing dances, dj-ing, poetry and music. It was staged in the afternoon and the evening of 5 July 2002 at Stratford Circus, London. |
