Description | This is a brief synopsis of Pushpalata Dance Company’s performance of Tagore’s dance-drama ‘Chitrangada’. The production was part of a millennium festival event which commemorated Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday anniversary. ‘Chitrangada’, written in 1936, is a mythological episode from the Indian epic ‘Mahabharata’, which recounts a complicated love affair between, Arjuna, a warrior, and brother of the exiled Pandavas, and Chitrangada, the Princess of Manipur. |

One of the events featured was Pushpalata Dance Company’s performance of Tagore’s dance-drama, Chitrangada.
