| Series notes | In June 2000, the Teesside Bengali Institute in Middlesbrough held a special Millennium festival which showcased Asian arts and culture and also commemorated Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore’s birthday. One of the events featured was Pushpalata Dance Company’s performance of Tagore’s dance-drama, Chitrangada. The digitised items include: an introductory message from the organiser of the event, a letter of support from Prime Minister Tony Blair and a synopsis of the dance performance Chitrangada. |
