In March – April 1963, Ram Gopal placed an advertisement in The Dancing Times, for his ‘Commonwealth School of Pakistani, Ceylonese and Indian Dances’. This digitised advertisement is a photocopy of the original, and features an image of Ram Gopal in the centre of the page in full costume. The page also highlights the patrons of Ram Gopal’s Dance School, who included Dame Alicia Markova, the Maharajah of Jaipur, and artist Felix Topolski. Ram Gopal placed a number of advertisements for the establishment of classical dance schools; however none of these ever came to fruition.
