Description | This black and white image of a young Suniti Namjoshi was probably taken in 1946 in Pune or Phaltan. Born in Mumbai, India into a privileged family, Namjoshi was educated at an American boarding school in India and then at J. Krishnamurthi’s Rishi Valley School. She completed her Ph.D. in English Literature at McGill University and then taught at the University of Toronto from 1972 to 1989. Suniti Namjoshi currently lives in Devon, England. |
