Description | Bollywood Funk’ was released on Outcaste Records in September 2000. Compiled by Outcaste Records’ DJ Harv and Suni (aka Sutrasonic), the album features classic Bollywood soundtracks from the 1960s and 1970s which have been reworked to highlight their funk and jazz elements. As Shabs Jobanputra, joint founder of Outcaste Records, comments in the CD sleeve, “the compilation evokes praise for Bollywood’s musical producers such as Laxmikant Pyarelal and R.D. Burman and the amazing vocal talents of artists such as Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle are exposed”. This full colour CD sleeve contains seven images and includes linear notes for each of the fifteen tracks. |
