Their son Tej rejects his parents’ western attitudes and focuses on becoming a doctor while their daughter, Cassie, insists on having an arranged marriage.

Mrs Singh is played by Siddiqua Aphtar, Tej by Imran Ali, Cassie by Pooja Ghai, and Mr Singh by Kaleem Janjua. The production team includes: Director, Caroline Ward, Designer, David Blight, Lighting Designer, Douglas Kuhrt and Composer, Troy Banarzi. The play was performed at the Derby Playhouse on 25 April, 2002 and then moved to Leicester and the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith.
