Description | This image depicts four actors from Mán Melá ‘s adaptation of Saadat Hasan Manto’s short story, ‘Toba Tek Singh – The Exchange of Lunatics’. The story, performed in English and Punjabi, is an account of the plan to transfer Hindu and Sikh mentally disabled people from Lahore Asylum shortly after Partition in 1947. The image features a scene from the play with actors Sava Dhalivaal, Harmage Singh Kalirai, Sanjit Sil and Mazhar Tirmazi. The production took place at The Hawth Theatre in Crawley in August 2000. |
